Biodynamic Farmers Bring Harvest to Piermont Farmers Market

Market open Sundays, 9:30 am to 3:00 pm, through November 22nd, 2015. Rain or shine!

Did you know that there’s a biodynamic farm at the Piermont Farmers Market every Sunday? They’re called Common Hands Farm. The philosophy behind biodynamic farming is to observe nature and cultivate crops in partnership with natural cycles.

They grow incredibly delicious produce! This Sunday, they’ll have all kinds of greens, root veggies, squash, peppers, herbs, and more. Farmer Tess Parker also shared their favorite recipe these days:

Roasted Garlic Delicataby Common Hands Farm

Ingredients
3 delicata squash (pictured here)
1/4 cup olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley

Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Oil a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Peel delicata squash, slice in half lengthwise, and remove seeds. Cut into 1/2 inch thick slices. Place in baking dish, and toss with olive oil, garlic, and parsley. Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes or until tender.

The market also has amazing French breads, pasture-raised meat, pickles, cheese, flowers, coffee, and more. Sundays from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm in the M & T Bank parking lot. Open rain or shine - come ‘mon by!
