Since the day he explored his first abandoned building, Christopher Farrell of Sparkill has been fascinated by the myriad of questions that each one raises. How did the building end up this way? Will it ever again be as it was? Many of the abandoned hospitals, factories, or houses that interest him have been left as they were the day they were shut down or deserted. Each abandoned site has a past, a unique history filled with some pleasant and some perhaps unpleasant memories. Farrell’s photographs honor and document these mostly forgotten places and offer them a second chance to be remembered.
Sunday, March 6: The artist will host an opening reception for this exhibit from 2 to 4 p.m. All welcome.
