
The scenic beauty of the Ramapo Mountains has attracted many artists, particularly during the 19th century when Hudson River steamboats and the Erie Railroad provided easy access. Hudson River school Artists produced magnificent paintings and engravings. In the 20th century the Mountains were depicted by Man Ray and John Marin.
