
Elmwood Playhouse is proud to present Sundays@Seven on APRIL 7: THE 3 SOPRANOS!
Julie Blank Wendholt, Margaret Young and Lisa Spielman (All seen in THE SECRET GARDEN at Elmwood) will grace the stage at Elmwood Playhouse with a lively evening of songs from Broadway, opera and concert stages. The accompanist for the show is Sue Anderson, with staging by Cal Chiang.
Comic takes on old favorites, lush harmonies and a tearjerker or two will fill the house and send you soaring with these ladies' gorgeous voices! Some of the renowned composers you will hear: W. A. Mozart, Andrew Lloyd Weber, Michel Legrand, Cy Coleman, Stephen Sondheim, Leonard Bernstein and - Dolly Parton!?
THE 3 SOPRANOS will sparkle with songs of Jewels, take you through the Passages of Life, and throw down some Woman-Power Solos as the true Divas they are!
AND they will do what The 3 Tenors never dared: wear gowns!
Julie has performed in Opera/Operetta roles such as: Margot in “The Red Shadow” Valencienne in “The Merry Widow”, Musetta in “La Boheme,” Zerlina in “Don Giovanni”, and Adele in “Die Fledermaus”.
Lisa was most recently seen as Titania in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" with Red Monkey Theatre Group, and as Judy in "9 to 5" with Clocktower Players where she has also performed in "Cinderella" and as Guinevere in "Camelot."
Margaret's favorite recent roles include Carmen in "Curtains" at Bergen County Players, Katisha in "Hot Mikado" at Elmwood, and Guido's Mother in "Nine" with Clocktower Players.
