Families are invited to a special book presentation by Anita Bell of Grand View, who has co-written a book with her daughter. Anita is a seasoned writer who has already published nine books, but this work of fiction is a real change of pace for her. 'Twas Ever is the intriguing story of a 12-year old girl living in 1683 whose friend falls ill during a May Day celebration. The girl travels forward in time to find a cure and ends up in the same town in the present day. The story inspires a discussion among young readers about differences between the two historical periods. Belinda Bell, a student at the South Orangetown Middle School, will read an excerpt from the book and talk about what she learned from working on it. Books will be available for purchase and signing. Refreshments will be served and attendees will be invited to make flower garlands for their hair in celebration of May Day.
