Markers Dedicated At Historic Homes In West Nyack
The Town of Clarkstown dedicated two historic homes, one from 1791 and another from 1820.

NYACK-PIERMONT, NY - From the Town of Clarkstown: Last week, the Town of Clarkstown dedicated two historical markers at the Vanderbilt/Budke/Traphagen and Tallman/Budke Houses in West Nyack. Supervisor George Hoehmann, Council members Frank Borelli and Dan Caprara were joined by Assemblyman Zebrowski, Senator Carlucci, Town Clerk Justin Sweet, Judge Howard Gerber, the Historical Society of Rockland County, and Heritage of West Nyack.
The nine acre Traphagen property, which includes the 1791 Tallman-Budke House and the 1820 Vanderbilt-Budke-Traphagen House, was added to the New York State Register of Historic Places, as well as, the National Register of Historic Places earlier this year.
The Tallman-Budke house is one of the oldest sandstone houses in the region and the Vanderbilt-Budke-Traphagen house represents a colonial revival style dwelling. The historic houses are adjacent to the Town’s 78 acre park called Germonds Park.
