MI-BOX Launches Fifth Annual County-wide "Triple Drive" Collection for Toys, Food and Coats to Benefit People to People

Rockland's largest food pantry needs your help collecting toys and new or gently used coats for Rockland's needy

Nanuet, NY (November 2, 2015) -- People to People, Rockland’s largest food pantry and MI-BOX Mobile Storage of West Haverstraw are once again teaming up to assist less fortunate families in the Rockland County area with the launch of the fifth annual “Triple Drive” – collecting toys, food and coats this Thanksgiving and holiday season.

For the fifth straight year, MI-BOX, the portable storage company servicing the NY/NJ/CT metropolitan area, is serving as the collection site for donations to Rockland’s needy. People are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys (for boys and girls ages 2-14), new or gently used coats and various non-perishable food items to MI-BOX’s warehouse located at 8 Carol Avenue in West Haverstraw, NY. Items can be dropped off at MI-BOX Monday-Friday between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. Those who want to donate, but are unable to make it during those hours, can contact MI-BOX and arrange to leave the items in one of the secure MI-BOX containers located outside the company’s headquarters.

The toys and coats will help fill People to People’s “Joy Store!” which provides new toys and clothing to area families. In particular, People to People needs new toys to give to boys and girls ages 2-14. Items such as soft toys, dolls, sports games, scrapbooks, art and craft kits, action figures, toy trucks, building games, musical and educational toys, and children’s books are always welcome.

“Children should never be without food, clothing or toys during the holiday season. Sadly, our services and assistance our still needed, not only during the holiday season but throughout the year to assist our struggling neighbors in Rockland County,” said Diane Serratore, Executive Director of People to People. “We’ll be providing a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner for over 2,000 Rockland Families this year -- more than 4,500 people -- thanks to MI-BOX and all the generous donors that we have. Without their generous support, we would be unable to provide the level of assistance that we do.”

People to People is looking for donations of specific food items for the holiday dinner, including:

“We have been proud to take part in People to People’s efforts over the years, but we do look forward to the day when our efforts are no longer needed,” said Lauren Schroeder, Marketing Manager, MI-BOX. “No one should be without warm clothing in the wintertime and we don’t want to see children do without presents over the holidays. We are pleased to do our part in assisting our neighbors who are in need.”
