NYACK, NY — New York residents are asked to vote on their local school district’s budget and board of education May 19. Here are fast facts about the elections in Nyack and Piermont.

Voting information
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. May 21:
- Depew Manor
- Hilltop Building (Nyack Schools Administration Building)
- Valley Cottage Elementary School
- Upper Nyack Elementary School
Board of Education
There are two open seats for the Board of Education, the seats currently held by Michael Mark and Terence Rock.

School budget
- Proposed for 2019-20: $85,987,000
- Increase over current spending: 1.81%
- Tax levy increase: 1.86%
Also on the ballot: Authorize the district to use $5,000,000 from the capital reserve fund for alterations and renovations of school libraries.

Voting information
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Polling places: South Orangetown Middle School, Tappan Zee High School, William O. Schaefer Elementary School, or Tappan Zee Education Center.

Seat 1: Rosemary Pitruzzella (incumbent) and Cara Stepanian
Seat 2: Daniel Lamadrid (incumbent)
