Piermont Marsh Meeting Tonight
This is the third of four meetings with the state conservation department.

The New York state Department of Conservation’s plan to clear the invasive phragmites from the Piermont Marsh gets the third of four hearings at 6 p.m. tonight.
The marsh clean-up is part of the Tappan Zee Bridge replacement project. Many residents, including those in the Piermont Marsh Conservancy and the Piermont Marsh Alliance have passionate, opposing views about it. Many have asked the DEC to address the poor water quality of the Sparkill Creek, which empties into the marsh.
