The shooter, a Valley Cottage resident, was 18 at the time.
NYACK, NY — Collyer Goodman of Valley Cottage was sentenced to 1-5 years in prison for what was initially considered a horrible accident, the shooting death of a man visiting Nyack.
On Aug. 23, 2020, Goodman was in the rear right passenger seat of a car in the parking lot of Nyack Plaza and Darien Brydie was in front. Collyer pulled the trigger on his loaded gun and the bullet traveled through the seat hitting the Chicagoan, who was transported to Nyack hospital by his friends, but died minutes later, prosecutors said.
Goodman was 18, Brydie was 21.
