Ramapo, Stony Point, Suffern Among 25 Safest NY Communities

There are a lot of local communities on this new list of safest places to live from SafeWise.

It’s called “The 25 Safest Cities in New York—2015” because the list-makers consider any municipality with more than 8,000 people that filed a crime report a city for the purposes of this list.

So you’ll note that New Castle and North Castle, which are towns under the New York state definition, are high on this list. There’s only one actual city: Glen Cove, on Long Island.

In all, 12 of the 25 are from Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.
