Rock City Striders Track & Field Club Making Big Strides on the Track

Rock City Striders is a track and field club based out of Nyack, NY with a goal of giving the youth of Rockland County the opportunity to strive for greatness and learn the sport of track and field. It started seven years ago and since then has seen much success and has recently become an official non for profit organization. Head Coach Jon gets help from Coach Emmanuel who is the assistant coach, Coach Frantz who is the jumps coach, Coach Doug who is in charge of the hurdles crew, Coach Peter the distance coach, Coach Lex one of the sprint coaches and Coach Fritz works with the jav throwers.

They just competed at the USATF Region 1 Championship meet in Fitchburg this past weekend and had 30 athletes qualify for nationals. Some notable performances where:

Teamwork and sticking together as a family are the biggest things for them. Staying focused at track meets and being role models for the younger athletes are also important.
