SOUTH NYACK, NY — Even though village hall is closed due to the snowstorm, South Nyack officials are working Monday evening, interviewing three consulting firms as they seek assistance for the process of dissolution, which village residents called for in a referendum in December.

The vote Dec. 17 was 508 "yes" to 292 "no." This initiated a process specified in New York State General Municipal Law, which village officials must follow, including preparing a dissolution plan within 180 days from the referendum.

The village has called a special Board of Trustees meeting for the interviews, which will be conducted on Zoom. The public is invited to watch. There will not be an open session.
