Spring Valley Man Faces Drug Charges after Nyack Traffic Stop
Non-working headlights were the reason for the stop, Orangetown police said.

John Vinh Nguyen, 22, of Spring Valley, is due in Nyack Justice Court Feb. 26 to answer charges of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Orangetown police said Nguyen was observed on North Highland Avenue in Nyack at 2:30 a.m. Jan. 18 driving a 2004 Nissan Altima without proper working headlamps.
He was stopped by an Orangetown Police Oficer who smelt an odor of burnt marijuana coming from vehicle. After a field investigation the oficer discovered him to be in possession of an unlabeled prescription bottle containing Xanax pills. He was placed under arrest, transported to Orangetown HQ for processing, and released on $500 cash bail.
