Storm Looks To Hit Nyack, Piermont During Holiday Travel

Heavy winds and lots of rain are likely to cause problems for travelers.

A giant storm system is now gathering and forecasters say that it could wallop an area from the midwest to the Eastern Seaboard with heavy rains and wind gusts of 50 MPH just in time for holiday travel.

While the storm is not expected to bring heavy snow as winter storm Cato did for Thanksgiving, flooding on the ground and delays in air travel are expected, according to Weather.com, which called the potential for the storm “very serious.”

The National Weather Service forecast for Nyack calls for rain beginning tonight, thunder joining the mix on Christmas Eve and the heavy wind arriving Christmas Day.
