WEST NYACK, NY — SUEZ has decided not to include two fuel tanks as part of the company’s proposed site plan to relocate its headquarters to 162 Old Mill Road in West Nyack.

SUEZ has had fuel tanks at its current location at 360 West Nyack Road since 1971 to fuel its fleet of cars and trucks. Once the company has moved to the new site, the plan is to use fleet gas cards at local gas stations to fuel up, said spokesman Bill Madden.

The decision addresses the concerns expressed by local residents at a Clarkstown Planning Board public hearing last week, UEZ Vice President/General Manager Chris Graziano said in a statement.

SUEZ will continue to seek final approval for its site plan, which requires no zoning variances or special permits, company officials said.

“We listened to the views expressed by our neighbors and have agreed to modify our site plan,” said Graziano. “This is an ideal location for our new headquarters and we are eager to stay in the Town of Clarkstown. Our site plan is a highly responsible use of this property, meets all of the current zoning requirements and places us near Lake DeForest, our most important asset.”
