SUEZ Preparing For Massive Snowstorm
Appointments with Nyack customers for Tuesday are being canceled.

NYACK, NY — The water company SUEZ is preparing for the nor’easter forecast to hit the Hudson Valley early Tuesday.
“Our priority is to keep the water flowing, despite any conditions that arise,” said Chris Graziano, vice president of SUEZ New York Division.
“In addition, our emergency crews are on standby 24 hours a day to respond to any situation that may occur,” he said.

The company will be testing backup generators, ensuring that water storage facilities are full and having an extra supply of water treatement chemicals on hand.
SUEZ will be contacting customers and canceling any appointments scheduled for Tuesday in order to focus on critical operations.

The company is also asking residnets to clear snow away from fire hydrants on or near their property.
Here are some preparedness tips from the Federal Emergency Management Agency:
- Use food-grade storage containers.
- Before filling containers with drinking water, clean them thoroughly with soap and water and rinse with clean water.
- Seal the containers with the original tops.
- Place a “drinking water” label on the containers and include a storage date.
- Be careful not to store containers in direct sunlight or in areas near toxic substances such as gasoline or chemicals.
