Sun 8/2: Yellow Taxi Tomatoes Drive Up to Piermont Farmers Market
Common Hands Farm, a biodynamic farm, brings Yellow Taxi Tomatoes to market AND last chance for Rote Gruetze with Christiane's Backstube.
Hello Piermont! Have we got a market for you this coming Sunday, August 2nd. First and foremost, your local farmers market is the best place to experience the adage, Every Food Has a Season.
All the Piermont farmers grow non-GMO fruits and vegetables in the Hudson Valley region. Their foods are limited editions, if you will. They are from the local, seasonal harvest. Also, the market’s food makers source from their fellow farmers, so their foods change with the seasons, too. This Sunday it means that Christiane of Christiane’s Backstube is offering Rote Gruetze - her famous German Berry Pudding - for the last time this summer! Let’s relish it one more time while we can...
Making their debut at the market on Sunday, we look forward to Yellow Taxi Tomatoes. Common Hands Farm will have these beauties on hand. Farmer Tess of Common Hands says, ”They are sweet, a bit smaller than regular slicers, but perfect for salads, sandwiches or just slicing up and eating raw with some salt.” Sounds GREAT.

Brookside Farm will also have EGGS once again, along with their pasture-raised meat and poultry. These foods are in addition to all the fresh produce, breads, baked goods, prepared foods - including waffles made on site! - pickles, and much more at the market. We also host Bluefield Farm, a farm that grows gorgeous flower bouquets and flowers by the stem.
On Sunday, August 2nd, you’ll find North Winds Lavender Farm, Christiane’s Backstube, and Coyote Kitchen with her amazing seasonal jams as rotating day vendors.
