There are several places in the lower Hudson Valley where 2016 will be celebrated.

There are plenty of festivities in the lower Hudson Valley where you can celebrate the New Year.

New Rochelle kicks off its annual “Ring in the New Year at Noon” at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

The event will be held at New Roc City, 33 LeCount Pl., in New Rochelle, with the big balloon drop happening at noon.

There will be face painting, arts and crafts, rides, snacks, goody bags and more. A meet and greet with New York Ranger alum Brian Mullen will also take place.

Peekskill’s New Year’s Eve celebration begins at 9 p.m. at S. Division and South streets. Along with a DJ and access to area bars and restaurants, the midnight ball drop and fireworks will top off the night.

White Plains is the site of the 16th New Year’s Eve Family Spectacular which will kick off at 10 p.m., according to lohud.com.

Main and Court Streets will be closed for the event.

The city will begin closing down the surrounding streets at 2 p.m. Thursday, and they will reopen to vehicular traffic at approximately 12:30 a.m. Friday.

Other celebration sites in the lower Hudson Valley include Dave & Buster’s in Pelham Manor and West Nyack, along with Mount Kisco’s Winston Restaurant and the Nyack Pour House in Nyack, according to FOIS1News.

Heineken is once again teaming up with White Plains to offer free, safe rides home after the festivities.

Anyone 21 or older can get a complimentary ride home between 11 p.m. New Year’s Eve and 3 a.m. Jan. 1.

There will be a fleet of 30 cars at the corner of East Post Road and Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains that can take anyone from the downtown area to anywhere in Westchester County.
