Would You Support a Reusable Bag Law in Nyack?

New Castle is banning single use plastic and paper bags as of Jan. 1. Would that work for Piermont?

NEW YORK — New Castle's Reusable Bag Law, which goes into effect Sunday, eliminates distribution of single-use plastic carryout bags at all stores and requires a 10-cent charge for paper shopping bags at the types of stores that use the most bags — grocery stores, convenience stores and pharmacies.

This law will make New Castle a leader in New York state. Would you like the village or town to do the same? Tell us in the comments.

Why not just ban plastic? The New Castle Sustainability Committee says single-use paper bags are also bad for the environment.
