• New York Cookie Chain Chip City Suddenly Closes All Stores (hudsonvalleypost.com) — Chip City has abruptly closed all of its cookie shops, including the Oceanside location on Long Beach Road, leaving workers jobless and customers surprised. The New York-based chain blamed economic headwinds, while a recent lawsuit by a co-founder highlighted internal disputes over unpaid compensation and federal loan control. 
• D'Amato-Neff, Dolan, and Santoro honored with Bob Pahl Sketching Awards (alfredstate.edu) — An Alfred State architecture student from Oceanside Alessandra Santoro, has earned third place in the Bob Pahl Sketching Awards for her sketch journal work while studying abroad in Sorrento, Italy. She and two classmates were recognized for capturing their travel experiences through detailed urban sketching, a program that aims to strengthen students’ design communication and artistic observation skills.
