WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — Quite a handful of things to do in Westchester County Parks coming up. Not just the weekend, but Friday and Monday too. Here's the list:
Friday, May 19

Riverlovers Pot Luck Supper – 6:30 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Pot luck supper followed by the movie “Soul of the Elephant.”
Saturday, May 20
Read Wildlife Sanctuary, Playland Park, Rye – (914) 967-8720
Sanctuary Waters – 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
A walk to learn about the nature of our coastal habitat and the waters of Long Island Sound and Manursing Lake.

For the Love of Bees: Teachings from the Beehive 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Bees and humankind have a long history together, and the teachings of the beehive offer a beautiful and critical message for survival of both species. Presented by beekeeper Margaret von der Meden.

Meet at Kimberly Bridge picnic area to explore the stream for creatures with dip nets.

Explore Cranberry Lake’s pond, then search for all the aquatic critters that inhabit it.

As part of a Nature Center-wide celebration of water, join a nice stroll along the Old Croton Aqueduct.

Use a 25-foot long net to catch, observe and release. Dress to get wet!

Bronx River Parkway, White Plains to Scarsdale
Bicycle Sundays – 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Parkway closes to vehicular traffic for the exclusive use of cyclists, walkers, joggers and those with strollers, from the Westchester County Center to Scarsdale Road, a 13.5-mile loop. Parking at the County Center. Every Sunday during May and June with the exception of Memorial Day weekend.
