Assemblywoman Galef Interviews Hugh Locke and Ken Kleinpeter about Sustainable Farming on her "Dear Sandy" TV Show

Sandy Galef, Hugh Locke, and Ken Kleinpeter discuss the importance of sustainable farming in New York and beyond

Assemblywoman Sandy Galef interviews Hugh Locke, President of the Smallholder Farmers Alliance and Ken Kleinpeter, Vice President of Operations at Glynwood.

Locke and Kleinpeter, who work with different groups, share the same core message: to make small farming more accessible. Locke, who works with smallholder farmers in Haiti, discusses the challenges of farming in a developing economy that does not have an agricultural focus, and helping farms in Haiti become successful small businesses rather than relying on charities. Kleinpeter, in his work at Glynwood, helps people in New York learn about farming practices and locally grown foods.

“I am pleased to have Hugh and Ken on my show,” said Galef. “I hope that my viewers will enjoy learning about the importance of farming in New York, as well as in developing economies such as Haiti.”
