Bazemore Announces Run for Ossining Village Board

He will seek endorsement by the Ossining Democratic Committee.

Ossining resident Quantel Bazemore announced today he will seek for a seat on the village Board of Trustees.

Bazemore, a lifelong village resident, graduated from Ossining High School and attended Howard University and Westchester Community College. In a prepared statement he shared his reasons and priorities.

I am proud to have been raised in Ossining. I love this community and I have worked hard to improve the lives of my neighbors by actively volunteering with groups like Community Voices Heard and Americorp. Now, I’m excited to be able to take the next step in serving my community by running as a Trustee to make Ossining an even more inclusive and cohesive community, unlike any other in Westchester.

Our village is in the midst of unprecedented growth and expansion, we need to make sure that Ossining grows in a way that is smart, and not just developed for the sake of being developed. I will strive to ensure that we have sufficient mixed-income housing so our current residents can continue to afford to call Ossining home. I will work to beautify and develop Ossining in a way that preserves and enhances the historical and cultural charm of our small village. And, I will ensure that we develop a plan to showcase downtown as ‘open for business’.

I am running for village trustee because I want to see our village progress and thrive and I have the skillset to help our community do just that. I have many ideas on how to make Ossining a place that everyone is proud to call home. Over the next few months leading up to the election, I look forward to sharing my ideas with as many residents as possible. And, I also look forward to learning and listening to residents about the ideas that they may have to help better our community.
