Briarcliff Nursery School Children Support Ossining Food Pantry
Funds raised will help the Ossining Food Pantry feed the needy in Ossining and Briarcliff.
Recently, Briarcliff Nursery School's class of 4 and 5 year old children raised money for charity at their "Village Day" event. The children made items such as stationary, artwork and jewelry and held a sale of those goods at the school. The children raised $186 which they decided to donate to the Ossining Food Pantry. MaryAnn Power, Ossining Food Pantry volunteer, stopped in to accept the donation and spent some time talking with the children about the work of the Food Pantry.
Martin B. Engelhardt, Jr., president of the Ossining Food Pantry states: "We are grateful to the children, parents and teachers of the Briarcliff Nursery School for their generous support of the Ossining Food Pantry's efforts. It is inspiring to see young children motivated to help our neighbors in need. The children's donation will go directly toward the purchase of food to help feed the needy in the Greater Ossining area."
The Ossining Food Pantry is a 100% volunteer-run organization with no paid staff, relying on the hard work of volunteers and donations from the community.
