• Ossining Firefighter Donald Farrell Elected President Of State Firefighters Association (patch.com) — Ossining's own Donald Farrell has been elected president of the Firefighters Association of the State of New York, bringing nearly five decades of local volunteer service to a statewide leadership role. Farrell, a longtime Ossining firefighter and retired village police detective, plans to focus on recruiting more youth and women into the fire service while continuing to serve in Ossining's volunteer department.

• Teen Killed In Route 17 Crash Near Wallkill, New York (wpdh.com) — An 18-year-old Ossining resident was killed and another Ossining man injured in a Monday morning crash on Route 17 near Wallkill, prompting an ongoing New York State Police investigation. Troopers say a Ford struck the rear of a Mack truck while changing lanes, and they're asking anyone who witnessed the collision to contact the Middletown Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
