Croton-on-Hudson-based B’Not, a group of four local women, will bring their vocal harmonies to First Hebrew Congregation on April 1, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The women, all members of Croton’s Temple Israel of Northern Westchester, have been playing music and singing together for many years at Temple Israel as well as at local nursing homes and at other venues and events. Including the Mohansic Grill.
The group consists of: Julie Martinez of Croton, an estate planning/elder care attorney; Leslie Hochberg of Croton, former adjunct professor of science at Westchester Community College and currently a tutor, who also works in elder care and sings with the Master Singers of Westchester; Terri Ochs from Ossining, a retired accountant: and Laura Copel from Yorktown, a composer, teacher, song leader, and founding musician of Temple Israel’s house band.
B’not will bring the joyous musical spirit of Jewish prayer into the Shabbat service at First Hebrew. No RSVP is necessary. Contact Rabbi Dana with any questions at 914-739-0500or rabbi@firsthebrew.org. First Hebrew is just west of Beach Shopping Center, at 1821 Main St., Peekskill. Visit www.firsthebrew.org.
