Come Hear Amy Beach's Grand Mass Performed in Croton, June 25th at 8pm

The first mass ever written by an American woman will be performed by the Croton Chorale and Orchestra at Asbury United Methodist Church

On Saturday, June 25th at 8pm the Croton Chorale and Orchestra will present Amy Beach’s Grand Mass, the historic first mass ever written by an American woman. Amy Beach was the first major American female composer and The Mass in E♭ (Grand Mass), Op. 5, was her first acclaimed success. The Mass is a 75-minute work for chorus, quartet, organ, and orchestra.

Conducted by Bob Collins, the Croton Chorale is a community-based chorus and orchestra with members from Croton and neighboring towns who are dedicated to bringing great music to the Hudson Valley.

This performance will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church, 17 Old Post Road South, Croton-on-Hudson, for the benefit of the Croton-Cortlandt Food Pantry. Suggested contribution: $20 adults, $10 seniors/students, children welcomed free.
