Croton First-Graders Embrace Stewardship of Hudson

Students from Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School took a trip to the river.

From the Croton-Harmon School District

CET first-graders took a field trip to Croton Point Park recently, where they explored the shoreline of the Hudson River with educators from Ossining’s Teatown Lake Reservation.

During the trip, students learned the river belongs to “us,” and it is our responsibility to take care of it as stewards of the Hudson.

The first-graders also made observations of what was seined from the river and recorded what they found along the shore.

CET thanks the PTA for helping to offset the cost of this valuable and informative field trip.
