"The Descendants" is Featured Movie at Maryknoll

Maryknoll Mission Center screening this Friday -- April 15.

The Descendants will be the featured film for April in the 2015-2016 International Film Festival sponsored by the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers. It will be shown Friday, April 15, 7:30 p.m. at the Maryknoll Mission Center, 55 Ryder Road in Ossining. Everyone is welcome and admission is free.

The Descendants is a 2011 U.S. from director Alexander Payne. The film is about native islander Matt King (George Clooney) who lives with his family in Hawaii. Their world shatters when a tragic accident leaves his wife in a coma.

The film festival provides nine monthly offerings on Friday evenings from September to May. The current series, Life through Death: Forgiveness & Tenderness Evoke Transformation, includes an introduction by a Maryknoll missioner and a brief discussion after the screening.
