Gloria and Te Deum Concert in Croton November 14th

Croton Chorale performs Vivaldi's Gloria and various settings of Te Deum by Haydn, Mendelssohn and Eriks Esenvalds

On Saturday evening November 14th the Croton Chorale and Orchestra will present the Vivaldi Gloria and sacred works by Haydn and Mendelssohn at the Asbury Methodist Church in Croton.

The 40-person ensemble will perform Antonio Vivaldi’s beloved Gloria, a work for chorus, soloists and orchestra; also on the program will be 18th, 19th and 20th Century settings by Franz Josef Haydn, Felix Mendelssohn, and Eriks Esenvalds of the Te Deum, a fifth Century hymn of praise.

The Chorale, now in its 16th year, is a community-based chorus and orchestra with members from Croton and neighboring towns who are dedicated to bringing great music to the Hudson Valley. Its annual performance of the Christmas Part of Handel’s Messiah, which has become a traditional part of Christmas in the Village of Croton, will be held on December 12th this year.

The Vivaldi concert, which starts at 8:00 P.M., will take place at Asbury United Methodist Church, 17 Old Post Road South, in Croton. Proceeds from the performance will benefit the Croton-Cortlandt Food Bank; donations are $ 20 for adults, $ 10 for seniors and students, with children under 12 welcomed free.
