Hudson Valley In For Snow, Sleet, Freezing Rain, Rain Sunday
Here are the latest details about the whole wintry mix.
The good news — temperatures are warming up — will help turn the next snowfall to hit the Hudson Valley into a mostly rainy day. Snow is expected to start Saturday evening. But while the chance of precipitation is 90 percent, the chance of it staying frozen is low.
"In reality, it appears likely to be a rather underwhelming event, like many others in recent memory," said Alex Marra and Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.

Temps will moderate to only a few degrees below normal for this time of year. Still, after this week the 40s will feel like sweater weather in comparison.
So enjoy Saturday, because on Sunday it'll rain and we will be dealing with snowmelt.

Then there is another minor threat, stemming from a blizzard plowing through the northern Plains.
"During Saturday night to Sunday, strong winds are likely to reach the Appalachians and perhaps the upper mid-Atlantic and New England coasts later Sunday to Sunday night," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski warned.
But right now that doesn't look like much of a problem for the Hudson Valley.
Here's the National Weather Service's hour-by-hour picture for Putnam County:

Rockland and Westchester counties may not see any sleet, as the precipitation will quickly transition from snow to rain.
Nevertheless, it could be slippery early Sunday, so drive carefully.
