LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS - RIVERTOWNS PRESENTS "IRON JAWED ANGELS"

The LWV Rivertowns will be hosting a free showing of the 2004 HBO film “Iron Jawed Angels” at the Hastings-on-Hudson Public Library, 7 Maple Avenue, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. The film will be shown on Thursday, February 5th at 7:30. Free popcorn will be provided.

A Sundance Film Festival selection, “Iron Jawed Angels”, starring Hilary Swank and Angelica Huston, documents the struggle to obtain voting rights for women.

Alice Paul, portrayed by Swank, joins forces with Lucy Burns, played by Frances O’Connor. Their young band of female activists joins forces with an older generation of suffragettes in putting their lives on the line to fight for American women’s right to vote.
