Man With Child Accused Of Drunken Crash That Injured 2 State Troopers

They were on the Palisades Parkway after arresting a woman for drunken driving.

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — Two drunk drivers were involved in an incident Sunday that ended with two injured state troopers on the Palisades Parkway in Stony Point.

At 5:21 a.m., two state troopers saw a 2020 Nissan Rogue stopped on the northbound parkway with its hazard lights on. They spoke to the driver and concluded that she was impaired by alcohol. She was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated.

While another trooper transported her to the State Police barracks in Haverstraw, they sat parked behind the Nissan, with their emergency lights on, waiting for it to be towed.

Their car was rear-ended by a 2001 Mazda, operated by Donald C. Bolling, 44 from Middletown, NY. Both received minor injuries and were treated and released from Montefiore Nyack Hospital.

Bolling was traveling with a three-year-old. Neither were injured, police said.

A test determined Bolling had a blood alcohol level of .12 percent, police said. He was subsequently arrested and charged with Aggravated DWI- Leandra’s Law and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He was issued 13 tickets, arraigned in the Town of Stony Point Court in front of Judge Franks and sent to Rockland County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to reappear Thursday.
