
The Edge of Heaven is the featured film for February in the 2015-2016 International Film Festival sponsored by the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers. It will be shown Friday, February 19, 2016, 7:30 p.m. at the Maryknoll Mission Center, 55 Ryder Road in Ossining. Everyone is welcome and admission is free.
The Edge of Heaven is a 2007 Turkish-German film from director Fatih Akin. The film is about retired widower Ali Aksu, a Turkish immigrant living in the German city of Bremen who believes he has found a solution to his loneliness.
The film festival provides nine monthly offerings on Friday evenings from September to May. The current series, Life through Death: Forgiveness & Tenderness Evoke Transformation, includes an introduction by a Maryknoll missioner and a brief discussion after the screening.
