
The NWS says there is at least an isolated risk for flash flooding Tuesday across the Hudson Valley.Again, heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop in the morning.
"The upper level low pressure is finally beginning to exit the Hudson Valley, but not in time for a tranquil Tuesday," said Alex Marra and Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. "Instead, we’ll have yet another day of unsettled weather."
In Dutchess and Ulster counties in particular, rainfall amounts of one to two inches with locally higher amounts are predicted. This amount of rainfall in a relatively short amount of time will have the potential to cause rapid flooding along streams and creeks, in urban areas, and in other low-lying and poor drainage areas, the NWS said, issuing:

For the region, the NWS says:
Low pressure slowly shifts through the region today with at least scattered showers and thunderstorms developing. Some storms could produce heavy rainfall. It should otherwise be partly to mostly cloudy and humid with near-normal high temperatures. Showers and storms exit east tonight, then high pressure builds in for Wednesday with rain-free conditions. It should feel a little less humid, although high temperatures will be warmer this time around.
