Ossining Schools Director Takes Hastings Schools Job

His new responsibilities started Thursday.

A new director of curriculum and instruction has been chosen by the Hastings-on-Hudson Union Free School District.

Jeremy Luft assumed his new responsibilities Thursday, according to information provided by the school district.

He said he was excited to join the Hastings school district.

“I hope to find opportunities to utilize technology to enhance classroom instruction while supporting students in the development of critical thinking and problem solving skills through authentic learning experiences,” Luft said.

Prior to joining the Hastings district, Luft was director of technology and chief information officer for the Ossining Union Free School District.

Before that he spent seven years as a high school physics teacher and instructional technology coordinator for the North Rockland Central School District.

His job responsibilities for the Hastings district include overseeing student assessments and data and maintaining and improving a K-12 curriculum that aligns with the Common Core Learning Standards.
