Ossining UFSD School Board & Budget Election Results Are In
The voters decided on a $180M Ossining school budget and which candidates will serve on the board of education.

OSSINING, NY — The ballots are in and voters have decided on the 2024 budget and school board.
Two seats were up for election on the Ossining School District Board of Education.
The proposed spending plan of $180,265,817 was approved by voters. The new budget is 2.37 percent higher than the current budget.

The tax levy increase is 3.28 percent.
District officials said that the budget will support: salaries, benefits, transportation, facilities, capital, BOCES and other expenses.

"Our approach to reducing spending is straightforward: we must ensure that the integrity and quality of our programs, which prioritize favorable class size, is maintained," Superintendent Mary Fox-Alter said. "As a result, our plans optimize the application of retirements, resignations, and schedule adjustments so that any reductions in teaching positions are kept to a minimum. At this point, 21 positions have been earmarked for reduction in the proposed budget."
A proposition to authorize expending funds from the "Facilities Improvement Program 2017" Capital Reserve for capital projects at AMD was also approved.
Two, three-year term board seats were up for election. Katherin Crossling (incumbent) and Roger Battacharia (incumbent) were elected to those seats.
