The Maryknoll Joint Meeting of Leadership and the Leadership of the Maryknoll Affiliates will host a Food for Thought presentation by the Maryknoll Office for Global Concerns (MOGC) about the recent COP 21 climate talks in Paris.
The presentation is scheduled for Thursday, February 4, noon to 1 p.m. at the Maryknoll Mission Center at 55 Ryder Road in Ossining. Click here for directions. The public is invited and admission is free. Please bring lunch. Water will be provided.
Sister Elizabeth Zwareva, U.N. representative for the Maryknoll Sisters and MOGC, and Chloe Schwabe, faith economy ecology director for MOGC, will explain their experiences as official civil society observers at the climate talks. They will share information and the outcome of the session, will reflect upon Pope Francis’ encyclical on the climate agreement and will share with the audience their ideas for homes and communities to prevent further climate change devastation in vulnerable communities, including the regions served by Maryknoll missioners.
