They were also discarding fish parts on shore, environmental conservation officers said.

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY — Folks who spent New Years Day (observed) fishing from shore in Croton-on-Hudson ended up with tickets instead of striped bass.
While on patrol, Environmental Conservation Officers Craig Tompkins and Kevin Wamsley spotted numerous people fishing from shore. From a distance, Tompkins observed anglers catching striped bass without releasing the fish and approached the fishing groups with Wamsley to check for licenses and illegal fish.
