See "The Messenger" At Film Festival

This Friday at Maryknoll in Ossining.

The Messenger is the featured film for January in the 2015-2016 International Film Festival sponsored by the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers. It will be shown Friday, January 15, 2016, 7:30 p.m. at the Maryknoll Mission Center, 55 Ryder Road in Ossining. Everyone is welcome and admission is free. Click here for directions.

The Messenger is a 2009 U.S. film from director Oren Moverman. The film is about a U.S. Army staff sergeant and war hero who has returned home from Iraq. His new assignment is to give notice to the families of fallen soldiers.

The film festival provides nine monthly offerings on Friday evenings from September to May. The current series, Life through Death: Forgiveness & Tenderness Evoke Transformation, includes an introduction by a Maryknoll missioner and a brief discussion after the screening.
