Snow, Rain, Ice Showers Possible Thursday In The Hudson Valley
Many highway crews started applying anti-icing pre-treatment to local roads.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The eastern edge of a storm over the Great Lakes and central New York may affect the Hudson Valley after midnight through Thursday. The greatest risk is a slick coating of snow for part of the morning rush hour.
"Any snow can end as a period of freezing drizzle, further heightening the risk of slippery travel," said Renee Duff, AccuWeather meteorologist. "Outside of any lingering patches of freezing drizzle, precipitation will largely wind down by Thursday night. Still, anyone out and about should be wary of lingering icy patches."

The National Weather Service predicts:
As we head toward Thursday, things will begin to change as the atmosphere provides some added moisture, associated with a warm front and an upper level disturbance.
Unfortunately, this weather system is scheduled to spread precipitation across the region just as the morning commute gets underway. Locations north and west of New York city may experience a period of snow showers that could coat the ground and make for slippery travel conditions.
This threat evens exists further east, but for a briefer time frame. This is not expected to be a heavy or particularly long duration event, but even small amounts of frozen precipitation can be treacherous.
The mixed precipitation should move away from the area during the afternoon.
