"Speak Out" with Assemblywoman Sandy Galef Focuses on Reforming the NYS Government with Richard Brodsky

Assemblywoman Sandy Galef and Richard Brodsky discuss reforming NYS Government

Assemblywoman Sandy Galef speaks with former Assemblyman Richard Brodsky about a variety of reforms and methods to get to reform in the New York State Government. Brodsky, who had served as an Assemblyman for 14 terms, and who had been chair of the Committee on Corporations, Authorities, and Commissions, now writes for a variety of publications and is a Senior Fellow at Demos, a public policy organization.

Galef and Brodsky discuss a variety of topics, ranging from Lobbyists to Constitutional Conventions. In the light of recent events in the State Legislative and Executive Branches, reforms are high on the list of priorities for many organizations and legislators. They discuss the variety of proposed bills intended to increase transparency, encourage ethical behaviors, and even the distribution of power in the government, a number of which are sponsored by Galef.

“It was wonderful to have the chance to sit down and chat about the challenges and changes that are being considered in Albany,” said Galef. “I hope that my viewers find our discussion interesting and thought provoking.”
