Agnello, grandson of late Gambino crime family boss John Gotti, sentenced to 1 year and 3 months in prison for stealing $1.1M in COVID-19 relief funds (newsday.com) — An Oyster Bay resident has been sentenced to just over a year in federal prison and two years of supervised release for fraudulently obtaining more than $1 million in COVID-19 relief loans. Prosecutors say he used much of the money for personal expenses, including cryptocurrency investments, rather than supporting his Queens auto recycling business.
• Long Island HS sports roundup: Softball, baseball, lacrosse, flag football and badminton (newsday.com subscription) — Oyster Bay High School’s softball team rolled past West Hempstead 15-1, powered by a six-inning no-hitter and five RBIs from standout pitcher-hitter Maddy Loayza. The roundup also highlights other Long Island high school results in softball, baseball, lacrosse, flag football, and badminton from the past few days.
