• $61M Cornerstone Project Approved As Hicksville Downtown Revitalization Continues, More Housing (patch.com) — A major $61 million Cornerstone Hicksville project approved by the Town of Oyster Bay will add 106 apartments, new retail, and streetscape upgrades near the Hicksville LIRR station. It’s part of a broader downtown revitalization bringing hundreds of new housing units, expanded parks, a Festival Plaza, and walkable public spaces that will reshape Hicksville over the next few years.
• Massapequa auto shop sues Oyster Bay over zoning (newsday.com) — Oyster Bay officials are being sued by a Massapequa auto shop owner who says the town wrongly blocked his long-running repair business under current zoning rules. The town insists the site’s auto work was never properly permitted and is enforcing a special-use requirement. The outcome could affect how Oyster Bay treats long-established businesses when zoning changes over time.
• Town of Oyster Bay Launches ‘History Hunt' Across Long Island for America's 250th (longisland.com) — Town of Oyster Bay officials are kicking off a summerlong Long Island History Hunt that includes Oyster Bay’s own Raynham Hall Museum among 26 Revolutionary War–linked sites from Brooklyn to Montauk. From May 23 through September 30, residents can register online, complete selfie challenges at historic locations, and compete for cash prizes and a “Revolutionary Trailblazer” title.
