• Oyster Bay-East Norwich School District names new director of special services (longislandpress.com) — Families in the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Central School District will see new leadership for special education services as Dawn Wang becomes director of special services, overseeing programs for students with disabilities and diverse learning needs. With nearly two decades of experience on Long Island, she'll work closely with local students, families, and staff to strengthen individualized supports.
   

• Oyster Bay collects DVDs for troops and children in local hospitals (longislandpress.com) — The Town of Oyster Bay is teaming up with Massapequa-based Big Hy for Heroes this September to collect DVDs for troops overseas and children in local hospitals. Residents can drop donations at Town Hall North on Audrey Avenue in Oyster Bay or Town Hall South in Massapequa, helping stock movie nights for service members and young patients.
   

• Register now for pickleball lessons (bethpagenewsgram.com) — Adult residents in the Town of Oyster Bay can now register online for four-week instructional pickleball lessons this fall, with beginner through intermediate levels available. You'll need proof of residency, your own paddle and balls, and a $100 resident fee ($150 for non-residents) to join this accessible, social way to stay active locally.
