Bloody Brawl Erupts Outside Controversial Park Slope Bar: Video
Video shows men brutally beating a patron of The Woodlands, the controversial Flatbush Avenue bar that's rankled residents for years.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — A bloody brawl broke out at a controversial Park Slope bar that's repeatedly made headlines over complaints of drunken patrons and counter complaints of racism, video shows.
One man needed 15 stitches after an argument at the Woodland spilled out onto the corner of Flatbush and Sixth avenues about 8:30 p.m. Dec. 22, police said.
Video shows three men punching and kicking the fourth, who lays on the ground as he's pummeled, then slashing his torso and elbow, police said.

The bar's embroiled in a fight for its liquor license this year, after residents complained of loud noises, huge crowds, drunk driving and patrons urinating and vomiting in the street.
But supporters of the Flatbush Avenue spot, including thousands who had signed an online petition to save Woodland's liquor license, say complaints are reflective not of the patrons' behavior, but racial prejudice in the neighborhood.
Activist groups have rallied behind the bar, claiming the liquor authority and other officials are targeting the "black brunch" spot for its clientele.
