Videology Movie Trivia Finds New Home At Park Slope's Nitehawk

The popular movie bar that closed after 15 years in Williamsburg will bring back its film trivia for events at Nitehawk Cinema Prospect Park

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — Movie aficionados who were devastated by video rental store-turned screening room Videology closing its Williamsburg outpost last year will soon get the chance to relive at least one of the longtime spot's popular activities.

Nitehawk Cinema will bring the former owners and hosts of Videology's weekly trivia nights to their new theater in Park Slope for monthly installments of the movie trivia games.

The first trivia night, scheduled for next Tuesday, has already sold out, a spokesperson for Nitehawk said. The overwhelming feedback so far led the dine-in theater to make the trivia nights a monthly event.

"Wendy and Kevin, former hosts of the weekly movie trivia at Videology, are back in a new location!" Tuesday's event invite reads. "Three rounds of general knowledge, a sound round, and a picture round will determine who knows the most about the movies."

The winning team for trivia, which starts at 8 p.m., will be given free movie tickets. Teams for the five-round game should be no more than six people.

Videology officially closed its doors in Williamsburg after a farewell party last October.

The venue had been at its Bedford Avenue spot for 15 years, first as a video rental space and then as a screening and party venue once binge-watching online took over the industry.

Owners Wendy Chamberlain and James Leet, who will host the trivia, did not clarify at the time why they closed the store.

Nitehawk Cinema is a dine-in theater that has locations in Williamsburg and a new spot in Park Slope that opened just a few months ago. The new spot at the former Pavilion Theater includes 650 seats, seven screens, two kitchens and two bars once it opens.
