Brookhaven Memorial Hospital CEO Stepping Down In March
Thomas Ockers will stay at hospital in advisory capacity after stepping down on March 31, 2013.

Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center President and CEO Thomas Ockers has announced that he will be stepping down from the position, effective March 31, 2013.
According to a release, Ockers has held the position since 1991. Highlights of his tenure cited in the release include the consturction of the Clare F. Rose Emergency, Trauma & Chest Pain Pavilion, having the hospital designated by the NYS Department of Health as an Area Trauma Center, the opening of a Stroke Center and a Women's Center.
Succeeding Ockers will be Richard T. Margulis, the current executive vice president and COO of the hospital.

Ockers will continue to serve as an advisor to the hospital after transitioning out of his current position. Ockers lives in Sayville, graduated from Bayport-Blue Point High School and has a Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Stony Brook University.
