Coronavirus Cases Confirmed In Patchogue Village

PATCHOGUE, NY — Patchogue Mayor Paul Pontieri confirmed on Saturday that there are confirmed coronavirus cases within the village. According to the statement, "a number" of people have been quarantined, but the exact amount many residents who tested positive has yet to be released.

Due to privacy laws, the disclosure of the names and addresses is not allowed without patient consent.

"I am working closely with all levels of government and the medical community to do whatever I can to help bring the pandemic under control in our community," Pontieri wrote in the statement. "I ask that everyone follow the recommendations set forth by health officials and avoid social gatherings and trips outside of your home unless absolutely necessary."
